Southern-Fried a docu-series Season 1

Casting Call

Welcome to the Southern- Fried a Docu-Series Season 1 casting application! We appreciate to taking the time to stop by to tell your story.

When I started Southern-Fried in 2018 I was at a point in my life of beginning to heal from the loss of our son Greyson. In June of 2017 we lost him around the 24 week mark and had no idea until we went in for our 24 week appointment with the new OBGYN. He was born still and our world was turned upside down. Until experiencing his passing I never knew that stillbirth was even possible so I began to research.

Throughout my research it was hard to find anything on stillbirth let alone in the US. With that thought in mind, I set out to create a documentary-series highlighting significant life events that our community doesn’t often talk about. Whether it be divorce, suffering from PCOS, infant loss, miscarriage, death of a spouse, losing a job, or losing a loved one to a violent crime your story matters. You have to hurt before you heal and sharing your story with the world not only cleanses your body, and soul but brings awareness to real issues that others are also suffering from.

In order to really heal and be in control of our mental health, it is important that we speak out and share our life’s journeys. Society tells us that we are to be perfect and pretty at all times, however that is not realistic. Southern-Fried seeks to tell the truth of what really happens in the lives of those closest to us. Suffering in silence is a reality for so many, when it doesn’t have to be.

Through your story Southern-Fried will empower those in society that have been dipped in a "mixture"of moments or significant life events that could have easily broken them, but instead made them who they are today. That is, Southern-Fried to a beautiful golden brown. If you have a personal story you’ve held in but are now ready to share and want to be considered for Season 1, please fill out the application below. The Application deadline is Saturday, January 18, 2020.
